Working with installation partners, Keytec Installation Services (also a part of the Genuit Group), Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation has provided product for a new industrial development project in Milton Keynes.

Briefed to provide a structurally sound stormwater management solution, the Polypipe CGU Polystorm-R [PSM1A] and Polystorm Deep [PSM5] systems were used to create two attenuation tanks on the site for a new 10,183 square metre logistics warehouse.

Selina Thompson, Sales Office Manager at Keytec Installation Services, said: “This is a project that came about when the original proposal, with a different supplier, proved to be unsuitable. We were more than happy to pick it up and got stuck in straight away but, with extremely tight timeframes to work with, Polypipe CGU’s involvement was crucial to the success of the project. At Keytec Installation Services, we know their product inside out and have the expertise to install it quickly and seamlessly, but without their assistance with stock and delivery, the job would not have been delivered as smoothly.”

“My role is Senior Engineer and Manager,” said TanRo’s Matt Harrington, “so a lot of my role is getting the architects and engineers drawings, and transferring them from drawing format into the build, and then co-ordinating, managing, making sure things go in the right place and that we’re complying with the end user [the developer].

“For this project, there’s a 9000 square metre area that we’re attenuating – a car park and yard area, in which the water is gradually released into the sewage system through a controlled release on a control system, and this attenuation was one of the biggest elements of the job, so it was a great milestone to overcome with no issues, which is also down to the great experience we’ve had with Polypipe CGU and Keytec.

“We’ve had no issues at all with Polypipe CGU products. We didn’t bring the team in until quite late, so there wasn’t huge notice really to get the products to the project, but I know everybody pulled out all the stops to make it happen, and it worked, between us, it worked well.”

Elaina Tomalin, Polypipe CGU's Regional Sales Director for the Midlands & Wales, said: "One of the biggest challenges that the TanRo team faced, in terms of product, was that there was a requirement for 60 tonne loadings. Selina was aware of this weight issue, and our Polystorm product proved to be the perfect solution for the job. Both Polystorm-R [PSM1A] and Polystorm Deep [PSM5] have been designed for use in trafficked and loaded areas and feature a compressive strength of 61 tonnes/m2, with the latter able to be buried deeper than any other Polystorm cell, making it ideal for this project.

"Also part of the Genuit Group, Keytec are best placed to install our products. We have a real collaborative relationship and this is a huge advantage when it comes to delivering smooth, successful projects. Together, we have everything you need: the products and solutions, technical expertise and correct skill and knowledge for installation."
